CMRs & consignment notes

The signed CMR is proof of delivery, and with it the trigger for invoicing. But CMRs come back as a scan, a photo from the cab or a forwarded email, and someone has to match them to the right trip. Dottle reads every consignment note, including badly scanned and partly handwritten ones, matches it on trip number or reference and marks the trip billable.

This is how the flow runs.

  1. The CMR comes back

    Drivers or customers email or upload the signed CMR. Dottle picks it up and recognises the document type.

    Even badly scanned and partly handwritten consignment notes are read into structured data.

    • Sender and consignee
    • Loading and unloading place
    • Trip number or reference
    • Goods, packages and weight
    • Signature and delivery date

  3. Matched to the right trip

    The CMR is checked against the trip as it sits in your TMS.

    • Matched on trip number or customer reference
    • Loading and unloading place checked against the planned trip
    • Packages and weight compared with the planning
    • Missing signature or unclear match flagged

  4. Invoicing can run

    The trip gets its proof of delivery and is marked billable. No more Friday pile of CMRs to clear.
